Bayside Resort Fiji Our Accommodation Bula! Welcome to my little piece of paradise. My name is Manasa, and I'm the proud owner of Bayside Resort Fiji. I started the small retreat five years ago, building two bures from local materials on a beautiful piece of land with its own secluded white sand beach that my ancestors have owned for as long as anyone can remember. As a boy, I played on the beach and fished in the lagoon, and in later life I farmed the gentle hills nearby providing for my family. My children are now all grown up and live on the main land so I decided to build two bures for guests to enjoy the happy lifestyle of Waya Island and to keep myself and my wife busy. Waya Island is a beautiful place. Our small resort faces west towards the sunset and overlooks the stunning hills of Yalobi Bay. The village is about 20 minutes walk along the beach - close enough to visit but far enough away to give each its privacy.
Our resort is blessed with natural spring water that feeds from the high hills of Waya and provides us with an ever flowing supply of fresh drinking water. We have flush toilets but not hot water showers - the heat of the day warms up the water just enough to make the shower water fresh to the skin. I don't have electricity or telephones or any other modern conveniences so that our simple and traditional atmosphere is retained. I provide kerosene lantern lamps at night time and emergency torches for our guests. It's simple living, but from past guest comments it is what they like about my place and what makes their Fiji holiday so special. Of course, the Yasawa Flyer fast catamaran passes us each day so we are never too far away from supplies. But that is the only thing that brings our day back into the modern world. If you want to experience the real Fiji, come to Bayside Resort. more about our accommodation |
